The Graham Marsh Junior Golf Foundation, since its inception in 1979, has gained national prominence for the success of its junior golf development programmes.

Its major objectives are to introduce junior boys and girls to the game of golf and to achieve that objective the Foundation has on offer a wide range of activities. This ensures that whether you are a beginner just learning the game or an elite golfer striving to represent the State, the Foundation will help you enjoy your golfing experience while you attain your goals.

Coaching Activities

Coach

Through the Foundation's varied coaching programmes, boys and girls under 18 have access to golf instruction from experienced Professional Golf Association coaches at schools, country camps, clinics and the annual GMJGF Academy .

Many of these programmes are conducted with assistance from golf clubs and District Golf Association personnel under the auspices of the WA Golf Association and Women's Golf WA .

Activities include Beginners clinics held each school term, metropolitan and country development programme, the Academy camp and regional camps hosted by a number of country towns each year.

In addition to catering for juniors at beginner and intermediate level, programmes have been introduced for advanced instruction and ultimately these juniors have the chance to represent WA in national competitions.

The Foundation is also dedicated to offering Level O and Level 1 Golf Coaching Accreditation courses to adults interested in helping juniors at their club or school.

So if you are a girl or a boy, a beginner or a scratch handicapper, join the Graham Marsh Junior Golf Foundation and become a better player.

Tournament Activities

Through the GMJGF tournament programme, boys and girls under 18 are encouraged to enter events, whether they are members of golf clubs with handicaps or play their golf at a public course. This means you can play in our events regardless of experience.

Currently the Foundation conducts ten major golf tournaments each year open to junior golfers under the age of 18 as of the 1 st of January each year. Juniors play in age groups and the tournaments cater to all abilities.

Additionally there are eight 14 & under tournaments throughout the year that cater for juniors down to six years of age. Competitors earn points to qualify for the Lake Karrinyup Sub Junior Classic in December each year.

During 1981 the Foundation inaugurated a stroke averages contest for junior golfers in six age categories to enable the young players to gauge their performances against other juniors. The contest concludes in November each year. Trophies are presented to age division winners at the Tournament of Champions.

One of the goals of the GMJGF has been to upgrade the calibre of junior golf events available to juniors in WA. Through the Foundation's tournament activities this goal is being met.
